Objectives:
To provide knowledge and skills to farmers, youth, women, and livestock keepers to make them proficient and self-reliant in their respective fields.
To develop critical thinking, understanding, and decision-making abilities to make agriculture and livestock practices profitable and sustainable.
To promote participatory thinking and innovation for understanding and solving local problems.
To build an understanding of working through collective efforts by organizing communities at the grassroots level.
To enhance collaboration and communication between farmers, extension workers, and researchers, enabling locally suitable solutions to be identified and adopted.
Key Activities:
Promoting environmental literacy (Eco-literacy)
Establishment of kitchen gardens, herbal plant nurseries, and compost pits
Encouraging plastic-free lifestyles and sustainable farming and livestock practices
Formation of trained “Eco Leaders” and innovative farmer groups
Empowering rural youth by providing training and creating local employment opportunities
Training rural women (who have studied till 10th or 12th grade) as Gram Sakhis (village companions) and helping them become entrepreneurs
